Job Description

Start Date: October 19, 2026 (Duration: ~4 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling to students in grades 9–12, both individually and in groups;
• Oversee and support the scheduling process, including student course requests, schedule changes, and collaboration with building and district staff to ensure accurate and efficient scheduling;
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and monitor student support plans that promote success and well-being;
• Implement and support a comprehensive school counseling program;
• Facilitate crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and responsive services to address student needs promptly and effectively;
• Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including course planning, transcript reviews, college application support, and scholarship opportunities; and
• Analyze student data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and develop targeted interventions that improve student outcomes.

Compensation:

$150/day: 1-14 days

$180/day: 15-90 days

90+ days: as per SHEA Contract

Job Qualifications

Candidates must possess NYSED certification as a School Counselor
