Academic Achievement Center Teacher (.8 FTE) Annual Appointment (2026-2027 School Year)

Position Overview: The Academic Achievement Center (AAC)provides academic intervention, tutoring, and student support services to assist students in meeting instructional goals and graduation requirements. The AAC teacher works with students individually and in small groups to provide targeted academic support.

Appointment Terms: This is a one-year, annual appointment for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is contingent upon student enrollment, program needs, and budgetary considerations. This appointment is not a probationary tenure-track appointment and does not lead to tenure in the AAC assignment. Reappointment, if any, is at the sole discretion of the Board of Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic intervention, tutoring, and instructional support to students in individual and small-group settings.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet identified learning needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement student support plans.
  • Support students in meeting course requirements, graduation requirements, and academic goals.
  • Perform other duties related to the AAC program as assigned by the building administrator.

Assistant Principal - High School

About the Role: Sweet Home High School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and district administrators to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes academic achievement, positive school culture, and student well-being. The Assistant Principal plays a critical role in supporting instructional programs, student services, school operations, and staff development. This position requires a visible leader who is committed to building strong relationships, promoting high expectations for all students, and contributing to the continued success of Sweet Home High School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and evaluation of instructional programs to improve student achievement and educational outcomes.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive school climate that supports student learning and well-being.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate instructional and non-instructional staff in accordance with district policies and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate student discipline, attendance initiatives, and restorative practices to promote student growth and accountability.
  • Collaborate with counselors, social workers, psychologists, and support staff to address students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Partner with teachers and instructional leaders to analyze student data and support continuous school improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of building goals, improvement plans, and district initiatives.
  • Foster positive relationships and effective communication with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Support extracurricular programs, student activities, and school events that contribute to a vibrant school community.
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, collective bargaining agreements, NYSED regulations, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Assist with scheduling, supervision, emergency management planning, and other operational functions of the high school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
